Alarm
Systems
Alarm
systems are installed in personal, commercial and industrial
environments to offer protection and/or assistance when it is
needed. The most common reasons for an alarm system are
burglary, fire, holdup, personal protection and medical alert.
A system that is monitored 24 hours a day can send help as needed
in automatic response. Knowing help is always on alert
provides piece of mind as well as security. Generally alarm
systems fall into the categories of Personal Protection,
Commercial Protection and Industrial Protection.

Personal
Protection Systems
Personal
Security Systems are designed for three basic areas of concern:
Personal security including personal
attack
Property security including vandalism and personal
items
Document and information protection
Alarm Systems designed for these areas of security must be
coordinated with life style, environment and overall
conditions of the area to be secured. Because of the
equipment variety available for this type of security, correct
selection and installation is critical to a systems overall
effectiveness.

Commercial
Alarm Systems
Commercial
security systems are installed when business owners realize that
30% of small businesses fail as a result of losses from crime.
Police studies show that criminals are deterred by the very
presence of an alarm system. Commercial alarms generally
cover break-in, fire, burglary with additional options for other
security protection & surveillance during business hours.

Industrial
Alarm Systems
An
industrial environment has many of the same considerations as the
commercial alarm system, but generally with a larger coverage area
including multiple entrances for both building and grounds.
Offices and special use rooms or sensitive areas need to be
included in the system creating the need for careful planning and
equipment selection. Because of the environment conditions
and number of points to be serviced, experienced security experts
should be consulted in the planning and installation stages along
with the company security executive.
